A new low cost data logger - and how to use it on cars
Last week in Five Gutter USB Data Logger, Part 1 we introduced the new eLabtronics USB data logger – a unsophisticated and cheap (AUD$86.90) logger than can work with up to five 0-5V inputs. It’s consummate for monitoring engine management sensors.
This week, we look at some car uses.
Locomotive Management Systems
To use the logger on a car engine management system, you trouble access to the signals. This access can be gained at the ECU, but you’ll for to know on exactly which pin each signal is available. And, as described above, the voltage will want to fall within the 0-5V range. Most workshop manuals will show you the pins on which sensor signal voltages will be found, and better workshop manuals will show you the chain of values that you can expect to see in normal car operation.
what is the difference between a map sensor and mass air flow sensor in a 1999 pontiac grand prix?
My car will start but wont thwart running but if you unplug the thing which i think is the mass air flow sensor it stays running so that might be...
The Mass Air Flow sensor is generally speaking right on the airbox itself, with a 4-6 wire plug (where the air filter is, and on most GMs, is tucked in a corner of the locomotive compartment), the...
Can a bad mass air flow sensor cause your engine to shake a little?
My locomotive shakes a little bit sometime and shakes harder when it’s going to die. I know I have a bad Mass Air Flow sensor and I’am thriving...
Under acceleration? Certain.
At idle? No.
Bad idle is usualy a vacuum leak and the engine is...

Apple introduces us to the Wild World of Coded Magnets
Thermal Management Application: Apple states that many electronic devices in use today have dedicated airflow paths to move air masses to and/or through particular areas for cooling. Typically, these paths are static and passive as they direct however and more »

This study, located at Hydrate Ridge, offshore Oregon, suggests that heat flow and hydrate concentrations are coupled, and that 3D heat-flow analysis can be used to constrain hydrate quantities in 3D seismic data with meter-scale resolution.
