As for slog/lotion getting in your eyes, try not applying it to your forehead and washing your hands well after applying. You can keep your forehead by wearing a hat. Especially ones that are lightweight and don't have a oily feel. Also, apply sunscreen about 30 minutes before heading out the door for a run so it "sets up" on the skin and will recover sweat to permeate the skin.
