Review: Wii Sports Resort , Master of the Minigame

Doesn’t exceptionally tell you how to play it — it gives you some basic instructions for each lark, then lets you mess around on your own. This is an interesting reversion back to the days before games spelled out every fasten on thing for you, to make actually playing them more pattern repetition than original discovery.

Finding things out on your own is fun, to a point. I cannot figure out, for specimen, what the deal is with Frisbee Dog. I don’t know when to throw my Frisbee so the small dog can reliably catch it and not look at me with his sad dog eyes like I am some kidney of monster. The in-game tutorial doesn’t pirate, and neither does the manual.

Some of the 12 games in this package grabbed me much, much more than the others. I got addicted to archery, bowling, provender tennis, swordplay and even a little bit of golf. I thought Frisbee, power cruising (Jet Ski without the entitle), wakeboarding and basketball were all right.
