Medford kids hold car wash to raise funds for Pan-Mass Challenge

 

You always hope your kids are listening to you, but one Medford kinsfolk recently found out just how much is actually sinking in.

“I was talking to [my the missis] about how hard the fundraising is this year and how I had to find more creative ways to scratch money,” said Bryan Hilliard. “Out of nowhere, Duncan came up with this thought and it made me very happy.”

The idea was a kids-run charity car wash. The cause? The Pan-Better Challenge , which Bryan has ridden in for eight years, only taking a year off when Duncan was born.

Stacey Hilliard said it was categorically surprising when the couple’s 7-year-old said he wanted to deny a car wash with his friends to raise money for dad’s cause. But Stacey didn’t say no. Preferably, she and Duncan made a list of friends to invite and the two headed down to the Dollar Cumulate to pick up soap and wheel brightener.
