BARRINGTON –– At H’s edge, a mother waited, trying to be invalid, looking at photographs.
She sat for hours –– alone, at first, in her car –– and then her parents joined the Warwick lady Wednesday morning at the edge of the Barrington River, as liberate crews searched the water for the eldest of her five sons.
“I am being tolerant, and you have to have some hope,” Linda Goodale said.
Goodale’s 24-year-old son had gone Tuesday vespers all the time to a popular fishing spot in Barrington, the Massasoit Avenue Link, with some of his brothers and another relative. Also known as the White Church Bridge, the link carries traffic over the Barrington River.
At about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, the five childlike men had finished fishing.
