MTU Friedrichshafen will be presenting their new MTU 4000 Yacht Diesel Locomotive at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show. The engine is designed for yachts over 25m in extensively.
So far the company reports that 80 Series 4000 yacht engines have been sold since their customer base launch in 2007. The engines are Common Rail diesel with a power productivity range between 1920 and 4300 kW. The series 4000 featuring 12, 16 or 20 cylinders is the consequence of ten years of experience. The engine series meets the new EPA Line 2 requirements with its use of purely internal engine technology producing no deplete. The new combustion balance on the Series 4000 also achieves a valued decrease in particulate emissions. Despite its limit on empty production and combustion the engines have risen 26%
