Nissan looked like they were almost to going under in the early part of 2009. They definitely struggled in the UK, decreasing the calling hours available for almost all their staff. Since then they have managed to stabilize and now are developing a fuel injection system, which will be introduced into the smaller petrol engines. There is no painstaking date set but they are planning on making the introduction some time next year.
Currently they are using one injector per cylinder. The new style will be using two injectors, which means there will be one for each inlet port. This means that the fuel droplets will almost halve in side which will have in mind that combustion is increasing and fuel economy is increased. According to sources there will be an dilate in fuel economy by somewhere in the region of 5%, and similar CO2 reductions!
