Q: My chain's auto, a 1995 Kia, has developed a unique problem recently. It has an aftermarket outside starter purchased from a business now defunct. It starts on its own. She hears it and presses the button to stanch it. Plus/minus three hours later, it does it again. After several days and all hours, she removed the battery.
P.S. I regard someone had the same frequency as hers, as that did happen to me. After I realized I had started someone else's car, I stopped it and didn't use the improbable when I was in that neighborhood.
A: The only thing I could recommend would be to go to the manufacturer's Web site and try to find an installer of the same label in your area. Sounds like the systems module may have gone cross. I personally would be scared to work on your car's engine, for fear it could start at any every so often and cause me injury. If you cannot locate an installer, then it should be pretty responsive work to disconnect it until you have the funds to replace it.
