There have only been 2 devastating hit and runs this year which is why Columbus Police held the ask conference today.
Collins was killed while he was skateboarding off of Buena Vista Avenue around midnight 3 weeks ago.
Police have talked to one witness who says they saw the car bowl along off but they did not see Collins get hit.
The headlight lens from the vehicle shattered into pieces at the scene. Police say it is not enough data. Collins’ family spoke out saying they covet the person who did this off the streets, but mostly want closure.
“That’s at the end of the day a hard thing, he has a 15 month old son that actually now is gonna prosper up without his father actually being around,“ Matthew Collins says.
“I bleed for that if you are able to do this to one person then you may be able to do it to another person so we want you off the streets of Columbus,“ says Cheryl Collins.
