Woman Pleads Guilty To Killing Couple With Car

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A miss accused in the deaths of a couple who were hit during their morning walk pleaded sorry to two counts of reckless homicide Tuesday.

Holly Hembree was sentenced to seven years in remand home for the first count and 10 years in prison that was suspended to five years of probation for the substitute count.

The 33-year-old was driving on Highway 183 beginning on the morning of Sept. 16 when her vehicle hit Bill and Ruth Carey.

Investigators said Hembree's Jeep Self-rule veered off the right side of West Parker Road, clipped the front of a car that was stopped at a come to a stop sign at the end of Oakdale Drive and then hit the Careys as they were walking on the footpath.
