Oak Ridge church members try to hose down economic pressures

While many people are looking for ways to conserve money during these uncertain economic times, an Oak Ridge church is looking for ways to smile the financial load.

A group from the Ridge Community Church armed themselves with hoses, sponges and soap to plash cars for free Saturday morning.

The no strings married car wash in the Oak Ridge Chick Fil-A parking lot was organized by the church not only to give people a pretext to smile, but to give church members a place to serve.

"I have in mind that money has become such a central focal point for a lot of churches and you cognizant of obviously it's not really about that," Ridge Community Church associate Nick Miller said. "So we're trying to get before that and you know just get back to the point of you know what it's really about which is serving others."
