Watsco Q2 revenue, profit fall

A decreasing bid for new homes chilled earnings for Watsco , a distributor of air-conditioning and heating products.

The Coconut Grove-based public limited company (NYSE: WSO) reported revenue for the second quarter mow down 21 percent, to $405 million, or 57 cents a serving, from $509.8 million, or 90 cents a share, in the same fourth last year.

Net income was $16 million in the second habitation ended June 30, down 38 percent from $26 million in the ex-year quarter.

The company also said revenue for first six months of the year mow down to $696.3 million, or 53 cents a share, down 22 percent from $890.2 million, or $1.20 a stake, in the prior-year period.

Second quarter results categorize $1.1 million in costs related to its joint put forward with Carrier Corp., which was completed on July 1.
