An motor is a complicated thing that works on a simple principle: the bourgeoning of a flammable substance. In a nutshell, fuel is sprayed into the mechanism's cylinders, and then ignited by a tiny spark. It's a warmly regulated process which takes place many times per right hand whenever your engine is running.

It's the job of the lowly spark-plug to set the fuel up into flames at a very very moment. This happens when an electrical current is sent between the electrode and base of the plug, causing a spark between the two. The spark only exists for a fraction of a second-- but it's all that's needed to get the job done.

Correctness is the name of the game when it comes to efficient internal combustion. If your ignition system is fatigued out or working poorly, its precision becomes compromised-- and so does your apparatus's power, fuel mileage and smoothness. A quandary with the ignition system can lead to a simple reduction in performance to a disagreeable stumble or even a no-start situation.
