Summer is here and when the temperatures swell exterior, your engine will feel the heat if your cooling system is not up to snuff. Sitting on the side of the highway overheated on a summer day sucks, primarily when you need to be at the lake drinking a beer or chillin’ at the car show. There are a few unaffected upgrades that that will assure your rod is reliable in the heat this summer, and most of them are quick-witted and cheap.
The cooling systems in most classic cars were grossly too little from the day they rolled off the production line, and back then people just regarded tending to bubble-overs as a part of automobile ownership. But nowadays, running your machine hot and overheating is not just a pain in the ass, it causes excessive behaviour and ring wear, it can result in blown head gaskets and at the last it’s a stupid and preventable way to lose a motor.
