Drivers have gotten old to all kinds of warning indicators when they stare down at their dashboards. Particle lighted engines for "check engine," the dreaded oil can representative of, or even a brake drum. But an espresso cup?
That little lighted icon is meant to determine drivers of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class that the car's computers have unequivocal they are too sleepy to keep going. Of course, if they're too sleepy, they probably aren't paying much concentration to little lighted icons, so there is also a buzzer.
It's called "Publicity Assist." Mercedes says:
"Sensors ... continuously survey and observe the driver’s steering behavior across 70 different parameters which be shown to be a very strong measure of the driver’s condition. Among the monitors is a enthusiastically sensitive steering angle sensor that recognizes patterns of minor steering corrections. Once the system recognizes a yawning driving pattern it emits an audible and visible threat - in the form of an espresso cup icon in the instrument knot"
I have solely got my wife a wee A class but the ESP lights on the dash have just come on. I took it and piece-goods...
i am not persuaded how to fix it, but all i know that the ESP OFF can't be turned on.
