Chevrolet Silverado shows its hybrid side

Hollywood hybrids can't attraction Aunt Minnie's old green-and-yellow couch to the garbage dump.

They can't tow your buddy Clem's 40-year-old fishing knockabout to Lake Lavon, where the two of you can drift for hours in the summer sun while he tries to zealot the dead ancient engine.

Heck, those cars can hardly tote Bart and what's-her-name with the big lips to the academy awards.

So here's my inquiry: If we've got to use two motors and a complex computer system to power one 3,000-pound cross sedan – and charge $8,000 extra for it – can't we at least rectify it capable of hauling more than Moonglow's extra pair of clogs?

In the score, with all the technology in these things, maybe we ought to just cling together some astronauts in them and launch them into space for our next mission to Mars.
