GM Abandons Sponsorship of Lugnut's Stadium

Oldmobile Amphitheatre-it's as synonymous with Lansing as the capitol building, but the amphitheatre may not be so recognizable soon as GM pulls its sponsorship and the Oldsmobile name

"I recollect its awfully interesting that you can bang a gavel and get out of something like 54 contracts," said Oldsmobile Greens General Manager, Patrick Day.

Day says the experience for fans won't metamorphose with the name but he is hopeful a new sponsor will come along.

"It's sad to go away but I of the positive side of it is, theres always positives when changes happens and it's a new day," he said.

Mayor Bernero says one of the positives may virtuous be more money for the city.

"The money were getting is based on a roll oneself thats about 10 years old it was a 10 years then a 5 year addition so in today's market it may be worth more," Bernero said.
